China Resources Land (Overseas) Limited clinches the Excellence Award of the Year for Urban Design Innovation

China Resources Land (Overseas) Limited (CR Land Overseas) was honoured with the Excellence Award of the Year for Urban Design Innovation - Hong Kong at the 2024 Real Estate Asia Awards. This accolade was awarded for their pioneering initiative, the 'Building with Imaginations, Envisioning the Future' Young Professional Design Award, which has significantly contributed to shaping the future urban landscape of Hong Kong's Northern Metropolis.

Launched in September 2023, this prestigious design award was aimed at fostering the growth of young talents from Hong Kong and mainland China. The initiative encouraged these budding professionals to unleash their creativity and envision innovative urban spaces that align with the sustainable development goals of the HKSAR government.

The competition attracted a robust response, with 59 innovative entries submitted across the Professional and Elite Group categories. These entries showcased a wide array of concepts in urban planning, architecture, and landscape design, reflecting the diverse and multifaceted approach required for sustainable urban development.

In January 2024, the Prize Presentation Ceremony was held, attended by distinguished government officials, industry experts, and esteemed jurors. A total of 20 awards were distributed, each acknowledging the outstanding designs that promise to transform the Northern Metropolis. The ceremony also included an exhibition of the winning entries, providing a platform for meaningful exchanges amongst participants and professionals, thereby enriching the discourse on future urban development.

The submissions were evaluated by a jury panel comprised of 12 experts across various domains. The jury's assessment focused on critical aspects such as neighbourhood dynamics, accessibility, ecological preservation, and long-term sustainability. Their holistic approach to evaluating the entries ensured that the awarded designs met high standards of innovation and practical applicability.

Aligned with the HKSAR Government’s vision, the Design Award has facilitated crucial collaborations between young talents and established entities. By leveraging the unique advantages of Hong Kong and Shenzhen, participants were encouraged to infuse fresh, innovative perspectives into the design process, thus contributing valuable insights for future development.

CR Land Overseas' commitment to this initiative underscores their proactive approach to integrating the aspirations of the younger generation into sustainable urban growth strategies.
